About
hello, my name is cari
hello and welcome! i am the face and brains behind homebody DIY where the motto is:
crafts worth staying home for!
i spend my days as a mental health counselor with a specialization in art therapy. so i am like a queen of art making and feel really secure in that statement.
i grew up in staten island, new york but moved to massachusetts to live with my true love kc and go to grad school.
i love ice cream more than i love myself, weaving and watching trash TV. i often loose a few hours of the day watching TV while weaving and eating ice cream. i also am a candy-holic and am often found eat candy at 10am. #retweet
i named this blog just because as i have gotten older i have realized that i really love to be at home and just making art. I also like to be at other peoples home making art. i lean HARD into the concept of “homemade” and that things will never look 100% perfect. that is sometimes frustrating but it also a part of the process and failing is just as important as succeeding. i do my best to be good at weaving, crafting, building, organizing, decorating but focusing on the fact that I am going to fully mess things up. I am a human being and I am learning how to do this whole blog thing by actually just doing it! You are going to see me mess up a lot, but hopefully you see me get better and figure it out too!
this blog is a place for me to be completely not serious and just have lots of fun. i hate taking myself serious, life is already too serious so i try to be as fun as i can. maybe we can all be okay with messing up and also being a little less serious! you cool with that?
also, im really excited your here. it means a lot to me.
